Idioms to Memorize in A Couple of Days! (기억해 두면 도움되는 숙어)

a fat chance = very little or no chance

be all ears = to give all one's attention; listen,  be ready and eager to listen to what someone is saying

be full of beans = be full of energy and vitality

If someone is full of beans, they are very lively and have a lot of energy and enthusiasm.

Jem was full of beans after a long sleep.

be down in the dumps = feel sad, with no hope

If you are down in the dumps, you are feeling very depressed and miserable.

bend over backwards = make a special effort, especially in order to please

blow over = 1. to cease or be finished

                        the storm blew over

                     2. to be forgotten

Bob's your uncle! = everything is or will turn out all right

pull your socks up = try hard to improve your behaviour or work

save something for a rainy day

take the bull by the horns = to face and tackle a difficulty without shirking

If you take the bull by the horns, you do something that you feel you ought to do even though it is difficult, dangerous, or unpleasant
