Yesterday I went mountain climbing with my wife. While walking on the trail, I met lots of foreigners. Most of them were speaking American accents, which made me know they were from America. We were resting for a little while at the entrance to a hiking trail, and then I saw four young women passing by talking to each other. I learned from their conversation that they were going to Baekwoondae. But they took the wrong trail. They started to walk along the road.
A few minutes later, we started walking along the trail, and soon we met them. They stopped there, looking around. I went up to them and I asked,
“Do you want to go to Baikwoondae?”
“Yes.”
“If so, go back to the forked road, just over the bridge which you came across. Do you know there?”
“Yes,”
“And then, follow the left trail from there. The trail is very steep and difficult, but it is much shorter and simpler. In addition, you are able to see more beautiful scenery than when you go this way. Of course you can go to Baekundae through this way. But it is much longer and more complicated, so you are likely to get lost along the way."
“Wow!, thank you.”
Then they turned back and my wife and I continued to go our own way. On the way back down, we ran into another group of American young guys. They seemed to be out of breath. One woman said.
“I want to be able to work tomorrow.”
On the way back home, I came to know my English listening skill had been improved a lot. I felt very happy about it.
