    I don’t know what I want to talk today, but I want to ramble on about anything that I care about. These days I just keep listening to an English podcast for about 4 hours a day, which is, I think, a part of my ongoing mission to improve my English. I know I have to listen a lot until I can understand what I am hearing in every situation.

 

    I used to listen to the BBC to improve my English listening skill. However, my English skills had not improved as expected. I thought I needed to listen to real conversations that actually happened between actual people who actually said some actual things. So I decided to search a platform in internet that would help me increase my English ability and I found one. Since then I have listened to the podcast everyday that has helped me to improve my English. Someday, I believe, I will be able to understand more than before and start to speak the language naturally.

 

    I never get out of my flat because of the coronavirus pandemic. I do a lot of listening practice to improve my English everyday at home, which makes me feel bored and a little bit depressed sometimes. I go out for a walk to relieve my stress, which helps me get my energy back in order to survive another day. I don’t know what’s happening now around me, especially in my country. Nevertheless, I don't watch and listen to news because it is not possible to see news programs without losing my mind. I am not interested to know what’s going on in Korean politics, which has been proved to be one of the most inefficient and crazy things in Korea this year.

 

    What’s the purpose for learning English? In my case, it is just an usual thing. I just want to regularly listen to authentic conversations in English. I sometimes want to communicate with other people who live in other countries. I just want to know and understand them. Therefore I need this kind of immersion, exposure and input, which will make a crucial difference to my learning of English. It is obviously going to make my life unique and enriched a little bit more.
